Mini: A 100ft Column of Sand and Whale

One chilly November in 1970, an 8-ton whale washed ashore near Florence, Oregon. While there were probably a couple of different ways this could have been dealt with, the powers that be decided half a ton of dynamite would be the solution to their problem.

Spoiler alert: It was not.
